As the sun is setting on Shabbat, some have the tradition of singing Psalm 23, in which King David proclaims, “Kosi revayah/My cup runs over!” Shabbat is a day when we can refill our cup—with rest and rejuvenation, with connection to community and to spirit—so that, by the last few magical hours of the day, that cup is overflowing.

Join Hebrew College rabbinic intern Sam Tygiel as we gather to savor this time, singing niggunim (wordless melodies), developing our sense of spirituality and connection to the divine and, ultimately, overflowing our cups. This month, because it’s the Hebrew month of Adar, we’ll focus on cultivating joy. We’ll end our time together with Havdalah.

Location & accessibility

We’ll be gathering in the social hall of a church near Davis Square. Please register to receive the address. The location is ADA accessible, with all-gender bathrooms. If you have further questions about accessibility, please be in touch at info@asiyah.org.

COVID safety

Masks will be required at all times during the service. All participants must be fully vaccinated (i.e. having received as many doses as you’re eligible for, including a booster shot). When you register, you’ll be asked to confirm your vaccination status.

This event, celebrating the shmita values of rest and release, is part of Asiyah’s shmita year programming, brought to you with support from CJP.
