Boston College, in collaboration with Yad Vashem, will hold a three-day virtual seminar on remembering the experiences of women and children during the Holocaust. On each day, there will be a lecture followed by a small group conversation, with online resources available throughout the event.

July 18: Understanding Memory Construction

  • “Inside the French Convent: Female Religious Life Before the Second World War” with Carmen M. Mangion, senior lecturer in history, classics and archaeology at Birkbeck, University of London
  • “Letters To and From Parents of Children Hidden in Convents and Catholic Institutions in France during the Holocaust: What Do They Tell Us?” with Eliot Nidam-Orvieto, academic foreign affairs coordinator at Yad Vashem
