Innovative, transformative and daring, “Salomé: Woman of Valor” is the culmination of five years of work by Grammy Award-winning composer/trumpeter Frank London and celebrated poet/performer Adeena Karasick. This “spoken word opera” features live music, poetry, dance and video that refutes Oscar Wilde’s misogynist and anti-Semitic interpretation of Salome “and recaptures her rightful place in Jewish history as a powerful revolutionary matriarch.”

Artist talk back to follow performance. JArts was proud to be a significant supporter in the project’s Kickstarter campaign.

From Review Vancouver: “’Salomé: Woman of Valor’ is a spectacularly unique, sixty-minute spoken-word opera that incorporates: interpretative dance, poetry, evocative avant-garde music and multi-media.”
