Join Temple Beth David for a very special Shavuot seder. This family-friendly event will encourage you to experience the tastes, songs and teachings of this holiday. The main meal will be dairy, because “The Song of Songs” states that “the knowledge of Torah is like milk and honey under the tongue” (4:11), so it is customary to eat dairy foods on Shavuot.

Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) marks the time the Jews were given the Torah on Mount Sinai and occurs on the 50th day after the 49 days of counting the omer. The counting of the omer represents the journey from Egypt to Mount Sinai.
