Congregation Or Atid will host John Pregulman and Amy Israel Pregulman, founders of KAVOD, to discuss their work helping Holocaust survivors in need. The word “Kavod” carries great strength and importance in the Hebrew language and translates to “honor and respect.”

John Pregulman started taking photographs of Holocaust survivors to witness and preserve their stories. To date, he has taken over 700 photos around the world. While creating these portraitures, he learned that many survivors were in need of financial assistance. In the United States alone, there are 100,000 survivors, of which 30 percent are living at or below the poverty line. KAVOD was created in November 2015 to help Holocaust survivors in the U.S. live the remainder of their lives comfortably and with dignity. John and Amy will talk about their work and KAVOD’s efforts to provide aid to this special senior community.
