Listen to accounts of the pivotal events of Oct. 7 that reshaped our lives, shared by Israeli youth who were intimately connected to the heart of that day, as well as from the family of Chaim Peri, who is still hostage in Gaza.

  • Michal Or, born and raised in Israel within a religious community in Ganne Tiqwa, is a student majoring in social sciences and Bible. She volunteers with special needs friends and is currently a counselor in the Kiryat Ono program through the Tevel program. Post-graduation, she plans to fulfill her mandatory military service.
  • Shira Salzman, a 17-year-old senior from central Israel. Passionate about diplomacy and public relations, she has been involved in the StandWithUs youth program “Tevel” for three years, currently serving as its social media manager. Alongside her studies, she has pursued ballet for nine years, finding her truest form of self-expression through dance. Additionally, she has been an active member of the youth movement IGY for four years.
  • Yael Edvi, 17, hails from Modiin, Israel, and was raised in a modern Orthodox, multicultural family. Her father is native Israeli with Mizrachi roots, while her mother, originally from the U.S., comes from an Ashkenazi background and made aliyah after college. Yael is a dedicated triathlete and serves as a counselor at the Jerusalem branch of the “Tevel” youth program. Actively engaged in her community, which includes many English-speaking olim, Yael plans to attend a pre-army preparatory program (mechina) after high school before joining the IDF spokesmen.
