Tashlich at Newton City Hall

September 14, 2015

This is a brief ceremony that focuses on rededicating ourselves to making better choices in the new year, in which we read poems, say some prayers and share thoughts. At the end of the service, we take crumbs and cast them into the water, symbolizing the purging of our sinful habits and our striving to be the best people possible. It is a family time, and children have a wonderful time feeding the ducks, having shed “Temple clothes” for more comfortable and casual attire.
