Join Rabbi Ariel Burger, followed by brunch. Jewish tradition is filled with stories and storytelling, many of which remain mysterious. We will trace the Jewish tradition of storytelling, from classical to modern works ranging from rabbinic Midrash to Hasidic and Yiddish folktales. In addition to exploring and enjoying the tales themselves, we will reflect on the relationship of stories, theology and Jewish law, and on the connections between the stories on the page and the stories of our lives.
Burger’s book, “Witness: Lessons from Elie Wiesel’s Classroom,” will be available for purchase ($26) at the event.
