Temple member and published author Dr. Emilie Kutash’s new book “Goddesses in Myth and Cultural Memory” will be published on May 21, 2021. The chapter “Was There a Hebrew Goddess?” will be one of the topics of her talk. What do all the female figurines dug up in Israel mean? Goddess worship is mentioned in the Torah. Is there female divinity in Judaism?

Dr. Kutash will cover the archaeological evidence, the presence of female divinity in our male-oriented Hebrew texts and look at the “goddess” movement among Jewish women today.
