Congregation Beth Elohim hosts an evening for remembering the Shoah (Holocaust). A candle-lighting ceremony will be led by Rabbi Lewis Mintz and Cantor Sarra Spierer. Following the candle-lighting will be a screening of the new film Raise the Roof. This uplifting film captures the journey of artists Rick and Laura Brown as they reconstruct the elaborate roof and painted ceiling of the 18th century Gwoździec synagogue. Presenting the film will be artist and speaker Krista Lima, who worked with the Browns for 10 years and was a painting leader on the project. For more on the film, visit www.polishsynagogue.com.
