Temple Beth David of the South Shore will host “Gambling with Gelt,” a casino night for young adults in their 20s and 30s. This festive Hanukkah evening will feature traditional dreidel games as well as fun new Hanukkah versions of some traditional casino games. Admission includes a bag of gelt to start your games, your own dreidel and two drink tickets. Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks will be provided.
“Gelt” is the Yiddish term for chocolate coins traditionally shared during Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, which begins the evening of Dec. 22. To celebrate, the evening will begin with the lighting of the Hanukkah menorah.
This will be a fun social event where the gelt you win is your prize to take home, so bring your sweet tooth!
RSVPs are requested but not required. Please email [email protected] or visit the Facebook event at @TempleBethDavidSSYoungAdults.+ More... - Less...
