American Healthcare Professionals and Friends for Medicine in Israel (APF), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization of physicians and health care professionals, is committed to advancing the state of medical education, research and care in Israel by assisting in the training of young Israeli physicians and health care professionals, and in fostering ties between the North American health care community and Israel’s health care community.
Programs include fellowship and research grants to Israeli physicians and nurses, an emergency medical volunteer registry of health care personnel available to travel to Israel in time of declared emergency, student medical Birthright trips every summer, emergency and disaster preparedness courses for North American health care workers held in Israel once a year and others.
