Temple B’nai Shalom provides a warm, welcoming and spiritual Jewish community. Members here are residents not only of Braintree but also of nearby communities. This community is located just down the hill from the corner of Storrs Avenue and northern Washington Street. Shabbat services are held every Saturday morning, as well as High Holy Day services. In addition, youth and adult education programs, a men’s club and a sisterhood are provided here. The clergy are Rabbi Van Lanckton, Rabbi Emeritus Milton Feierstein and Cantor Seth Grossman.

We are a Conservative congregation serving a diverse membership. Everyone is welcome: younger, older, casual attendee or very dedicated, single, married, with or without children, in interfaith marriages or traditional marriages.

Many talented and learned lay members participate in the services and activities. Temple B’nai Shalom offers weekly classes to learn prayers and traditions. Advanced religious and bar/bat mitzvah lessons are available.

We hope to inspire in our members a love of God, of Torah and of Israel.

Participation in the life of this synagogue builds lasting relationships that provide each of us with strength and support in life’s hard times.

We share each others’ joy in life’s good times and friendship at all times.

Through our educational programs and Shabbat morning discussions, and the work of our men’s club and sisterhood, we transmit a love of Jewish learning and living from generation to generation.

In all that we do we hope to help our members make ordinary days holy by filling our lives with the mitzvot God has given us to make our lives matter.
