Well, it finally happened—after a great deal of planning and anticipating, the first set of residents moved into Shillman House this week. It would be dishonest to say it went off without a hitch, but totally truthful to say that the Shillman House team and some JCHE regulars pulled together and made it look seamless.[nbsp]

Many people signing leases or inspecting apartments got tearful, realizing that indeed, they were moving into a brand new place with no prior wear-and-tear on the appliances or fixtures—and no already-formed groupings of friends or affinity groups.

And while our staff team is all experienced, all of them are naturally new to Shillman and ready to respond to our newest clients—not with pre-conceived notions on which programs will work and what offerings make most sense, but by listening and learning together and responding. [nbsp]We’ll build a new community from the ground up—trusting to the process rather than moving towards an imposed sense of how things should be.[nbsp] Stay tuned……………..
