Long before I actually landed in Boston in July 2025, I was already feeling overwhelmed. Preparing to move across the world from my home in Haifa meant facing a daunting maze of new codes, unfamiliar systems, and endless logistics. Luckily, while still in Haifa getting ready for the big transition, I discovered The Bostoniot (Israeli Women Organization, Inc.) and everything changed.

From day one, The Bostoniot gathered every shred of essential information I needed for a soft landing. But beyond practical guidance, what blew me away was the warmth and generosity of the local Jewish and Israeli community, who embraced me with open arms.

The true turning point came in October 2025 at The Bostoniot’s Opening Event, where Galit Zangwill delivered a captivating talk on “The Great Women of Boston.” Surrounded by inspiring women, I formed connections that evening that quickly blossomed into deep, meaningful friendships.

Fast forward one year later: Just last month, I received a deeply moving offer to join the board of the very organization that helped me find my footing. Starting this September 2026, I am honored to serve as the official Storyteller for The Bostoniot, giving back to the community that gave me a home away from home!

A Sisterhood with Real Impact

What makes The Bostoniot so extraordinary is its heart. Run entirely by a passionate team of volunteers, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to empowering Israeli women across Greater Boston, whether they are here for short-term medical fellowships, academic programs, career relocations, or have lived in Massachusetts for decades.

Beyond hosting inspiring events, The Bostoniot serves as an open, welcoming platform where women can freely reach out whenever they need a helping hand. Time and time again, members of this extraordinary community step up to answer the call, whether it’s offering practical guidance, cooking a meal, or helping a neighbor navigate a tough moment. It is a living, breathing network built on organic mutual support and true sisterhood.

Driven entirely by womanpower and community spirit, The Bostoniot is led by a dedicated team of local leaders: President Noa Vardy, Director of Operations Tanya Gordon, Director of Finance Michal Kennedy, Director of Hospitality Pnina Biran and me, Michal, as Director of Storytelling (Marketing & Communication). Together, alongside a growing network of volunteers, we work year-round to ensure every Israeli woman in Greater Boston finds the connection, guidance, and sisterhood she needs to thrive.
