Ask anyone what they love most about Jewish overnight camp and they will say the people. Campers, staff, parents, and alumni all love their camp communities because they foster lasting friendships and create bonds that cannot be broken.

I’ve seen how transformative Jewish overnight camp can be with my own eyes. There are moments that I will never get tired of seeing or take for granted, such as older campers helping younger campers cope with homesickness. I also love seeing campers who are shy in nature develop into vocal leaders and turn into role models.

And, then, there are the smiles at the beginning of camp followed by the tears at the end. I love seeing those too. They mean friendships built on trust ,in one another, is alive and well. With the beauty of camp in mind, please consider posting your best camp photos to CJP’s #YourPerfectCamp contest!
Sometimes it’s fun to share the joy you see.
