As we enter the final week of our time here in Israel, I reflect on the past two months of our experiences. Friendships have been formed over the past several weeks, which will last a lifetime, professional experience has been gained, and a connection to this land has been solidified. But our time here is not over yet!
A few weeks ago, the Boston Tel Aviv group held its Shabbaton weekend in Mitzpe Ramon. This area, far from Tel Aviv, is located in an incredible area just outside the desert. We celebrated Shabbat, enjoyed the views the town had to offer, and participated in Jewish educational activities. Our trip also recently ventured to Masada, where we learned about the history of the site and then floated in the Dead Sea.
Last week, many of us organized our own waterfall rappelling trip in the Golan Heights. The views were spectacular and it was refreshing to leave the bustling city for a short while.
Ari Dinerman, Roger Williams University ’23, is a business major interning at Imperium Jets in Tel Aviv through the Boston Onward Israel program. 125 students from schools across Massachusetts have professional internships in their fields of interest in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa.
