I had the pleasure of catching Ned Rothenberg this past April sitting in with Club d’Elf, a local jazz/fusion collective. I had heard of Ned and his reputation over the years, and had known about his connection to the edgy and cerebral downtown jazz scene in NYC, but nothing prepared me for the mastery and beauty of Ned’s playing.

PRISM has put together a great program. Ned will first be interviewed by Russ Gershon, another great woodwinds player and a local legend known for leading the excellent 10-piece jazz group the Either/Orchestra. The Either/Orchestra is known for its amazing live concerts and alumni like John Medeski and Mike Rivard. The interview will focus on Ned’s upbringing and the role of Judaism in his work. Following that, Ned and his trio will play some music. Sounds like good times to me. Don’t miss this. Tickets are $15 dollars in advance and $20 at the door. C’mon down.
