Congregation B’nai Torah of Sudbury welcomes the community to join us on Zoom for a HIAS 5th Annal Refugee Shabbat,

Drawing on our Jewish values and history, HIAS provides vital services to refugees and asylum seekers around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives.

This Shabbat service is our chance to remind ourselves of the assistance HIAS and other Jewish and non-Jewish agencies provide refugees and asylum-seekers. As the world marks the one-year anniversary of the attack on Ukraine by Russia, we dedicate this service to the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their nation’s sovereignty and for democracy’s survival.

Following the service, we will view a short video. We invite all to join in the conversation about the current plight of refugees and immigrants around the world, particularly in the U.S.
