The Power of Identity: A Personal Story – Yarden Fanta-Vagenshtein. Senior Associate and Research Fellow at Brandeis University will speak at Shir Hadash Sunday evening December 20th at 7:30 PM.
Dr. Fanta-Vagenshtein received her Ph.D from Tel Aviv University in Science and Technology in Education, and was the first Ethiopian woman to earn a Ph.D in Israel. When she moved from Ethiopia to Israel, she could not read or write. She is currently conducting comparative studies on Upward Mobility and Glass Ceiling as experienced by immigrant women in Israel and the United States.
