JArts is excited to bring another break-out Israeli band to the Somerville Armory: led by singer Shiran Karni, Bint el Funk (Daughters of Funk) combines funk and traditional Jewish Yemenite music. The eight-piece band mixes together Afro beats, jazz, psychedelic Turkish music and more to create a tribal party of sounds, rhythms, and colors. The people who brought you A-Wa, AvevA and Yemen Blues promise that Bint el Funk will have you on your feet!

The evening kicks off with a performance by the tap dance/percussion troupe, Drumatix, led by Israel tap master Noa Barankin. Support for this concert is provided in part by a CJP Young Adult Grant.
