Brotherhood Breakfast

November 22, 2015 Acton $0.00 - $7.00

Our Brotherhood holds its popular monthly lox and bagel breakfast and speaker. We start at 9:00 with the breakfast buffet and great company, and at 9:30 we introduce our monthly speaker. This month congregants Matt Liebman and George Morton will speak about their recent experience biking across Israel to benefit the Arava Institute.

“From October 27th through November 3rd, over 160 riders pedaled their way from Jerusalem to Eilat, raising over $600,000 for the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon. Along the route these enthusiastic cyclists rode through the Jerusalem Forest; past Jewish, Bedouin, and Arab towns; and into the heart of the Negev Desert. The riders visited Kibbutz Ketura, the home of the Arava Institute, where they took campus tours and heard from our young leaders from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and from around the world. On the last day, riders cycled through the Eilat mountains to the shores of the Red Sea, celebrating their personal riding triumphs before saying farewell and returning home, ready to begin training for next year’s 2016 Israel Ride.” — Arava Institute
