From Degradation to Dignity: Our Journey to Justice

April 6, 2017 Boston Free
LISCHINSKY_HALL

Please join us for an evening at Temple Israel as we prepare for Passover, the retelling of the story of our redemption from slavery in Egypt.  Even as we celebrate, we are called on to REFLECT, to recognize that there are those among us who still live in Mitzraim, the narrow places.  And we are called on to REFORM, to act against the injustices we witness.

Under the auspices of Temple Israel’s Racial Justice Initiative, we will learn from inspired leaders engaged in reforming criminal justice in Massachusetts.

KAREN LISCHINSKY, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Sociology and Criminal Justice, Curry College. Created and leads the Transformational Prison Project to bring principles and practices of restorative justice to the Massachusetts prison system.

RAHSAAN D. HALL, J.D., M.Div. Director of the ACLU of Massachusetts Racial Justice Program. Through legislative advocacy, litigation and community engagement, Rahsaan works on issues that deeply impact communities of color, including criminal justice.
