Love is in the Air! In this film series, we take a look at love and romance in Jewish Films. Join us for two evenings of beautiful films, refreshments and curated discussions.
“Fill the Void“: Wednesday, May 24 at 7 p.m.
Written and directed by a Jewish Orthodox woman, “Fill the Void” has been described as “graceful, comlpex, and beautifully layered.” Through a sympathetic portrait of the ultra Orthadox Jewish community, the drama rises above an insulated subculture to visit universal themes.
“Arranged“: Wednesday, June 14 at 7 p.m.
“Arranged,” as its title suggests, follows two young New York women, one Jewish and one Muslim. When confronted with arranged marriage, they find comfort, companionship and solace in the burden of their common, outmoded destiny. The acting performances of this romantic comedy are compelling and enchanting.
