Escape From the Holocaust: Geoscience and Archaeology

Clark University will host “Escape from the Holocaust: Geoscience and Archaeology,” a lecture by esteemed American archaeologist Dr. Richard A. Freund. In this talk, Professor Freund will discuss his recent work in Vilna, Lithuania, where he and an excavation team uncovered an escape tunnel used by prisoners during the Holocaust and was hidden for 70 years.

Professor Freund is the Maurice Greenberg Professor of Jewish History and the Director of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford. He is also the author of “Digging Through the Bible: Modern Archaeology and the Ancient Bible” and “Digging Through History: Archaeology and Religion from Atlantis to the Holocaust.”

The lecture will be in Grace Conference Room. Light refreshments will be served.
