What future emerges when a war is paused but its core dilemmas remain unresolved?

The Center for Expanding Viewpoints in Higher Education (CEVIHE) at Tufts University welcomes you to a conversation and Q&A with journalist Haviv Rettig Gur exploring contemporary Israeli and Palestinian political dynamics, the future of Gaza, regional geopolitical shifts, and the broader implications of the conflict.

This conversation on “The Configuration of the Middle East after the Gaza War” will be held in a free-flowing format emphasizing open inquiry and audience engagement. CEVIHE welcomes attendees from all disciplines, backgrounds, and worldviews. The event is designed to foster a civil and respectful atmosphere in which difficult questions can be raised, contested perspectives examined, and disagreements engaged seriously and in good faith. We aim to model the kind of intellectual exchange that advances understanding without requiring consensus.

Haviv Rettig Gur is a veteran Israeli journalist, host of the “Ask Haviv Anything” podcast, Middle East analyst at The Free Press, and senior analyst at The Times of Israel. He has covered Israel’s politics, foreign policy, education system, and relationship with the Jewish diaspora since 2005. He has reported from over 20 countries, served as director of communications for the Jewish Agency for Israel, Israel’s largest NGO, and taught at prestigious pre-military academies.

The conversation will be moderated by Eitan Hersh, professor of political science and director of CEVIHE at Tufts.
