Bring a friend and share the experience of “Half-Baked Stories About My Dead Mom” with Ira Glass and Etgar Keret or “Simple Too: An Evening with Yotam Ottolenghi.”
October 6 – Half-Baked Stories About My Dead Mom is a live performance of powerful and funny stories featuring “This American Life” host Ira Glass and renowned Israeli author Etgar Keret about Etgar’s mother, who was born in Poland in 1934 and was the lone member of her family to survive the Holocaust. “This show really began on a bus heading out of Tel Aviv,” Glass explains. Keret’s mom, Orna Keret, was complicated. She was vengeful and loving. Maria in “West Side Story” and Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Capable of extreme action. “Etgar told me a story – really one of the most remarkable things I’d ever heard – and I thought, ‘I have no idea how this can be a show but we have to make it into a show.’”
