“Guard your soul from forgetting what your eyes have seen.”
—Deuteronomy 4:9

“Guarding Memories | Creating Histories” brings together seven young Jewish artists contemplating memory. From collective experience, family histories, mundane interactions, or personal gestures, this show explores how art can be used to preserve the fleeting. The artists layer material and metaphor to visualize the ungraspable: memory itself.

The featured artists include: Emily Mogavero, Hannah Richman, Natalya Bernstein, Rachel Jackson, Shelby Feltoon, Stacy Friedman, and Taryn Wallach.

Enjoy live music, art, wine, and cheese at the opening reception!

Gallery hours through August 20:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 12 p.m.—5 p.m.
Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays: 1 p.m.—6 p.m.

This is generously sponsored by Moishe House Brookline and Temple Ohabei Shalom and was curated and organized by Emily Mogavero and Natalya Bernstein.

What is Moishe House?
Moishe House is a network of peer-based Jewish communities for young adults aged 22-30. The communities are created by a group of young adults (called “residents”), who all share a strong eagerness to create a hub of Jewish life for their peers (called “participants”) and community members. The Jewish community has created infrastructure for engaging Jews from early childhood through college and then again once they choose to start families. A major gap has evolved in which there are almost no appropriate organized venues for post-collegiate Jews in their twenties. Moishe House was created to meet the needs of this growing demographic by cultivating a meaningful and attractive pathway from Jewish college life to Jewish family life.

We welcome people of all ages and religious backgrounds to attend this exhibition! Email with any questions!
