Please join us to escort the Shabbat Queen and usher in the week of Purim celebrations with Havdalah, a festive pareve dinner buffet, Mizrachi, Hasidic, and piyyut DJ music, communal singing, dancing, divrei Torah, and stories about the Baal Shem Tov and other tzadikim.

Our sages taught that it is a mitzvah to set the table on Saturday night for the Melaveh Malkah meal in order to honor Shabbat as it departs (Shabbat 119b). Just as a person accompanies a beloved and honored guest for some distance when it is difficult to part, so too should we accompany Shabbat. Even though it has ended, we continue to delight in and draw in its holiness. On Shabbat, we receive an added measure of sanctity in all areas of life—spirit and material, prayer and meals—and the goal is to extend that light into the days of the week.

Sponsored by the Brookline Community Center for the Arts (BCCA). Thank you to Rabbi Shayke and Chani Lerner and Chabad of Brookline for hosting this event for the first time.
