Join Brandeis University’s Rabbi David Starr to discuss the election.  The most recent Israeli election paved the way for Benjamin Netanyahu to return to power.  Arguably, along with David Ben-Gurion, Netanyahu now rates as not only the longest serving Prime Minister, but as one of the two most important leaders in the history of the state.  We will discuss the election and Netanyahu’s vision and strategy, with reference to three classic themes in the history and ideas of Zionism and Israel:

  • Israel as a Jewish and democratic state
  • Israel as an increasingly capitalist economy
  • Israel as a secular Jewish society and culture. Where is the state and society going?

This event will be presented as an On-Site/Zoom hybrid.  Join us on-site to enjoy bagels, lox, cream cheese and coffee!

There will be no charge for attendance on Zoom at: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82385001295?pwd=WkxmYjQ0UjRCWmcwS0dGMWs5MkEzQT09
