Local filmmaker Pamela Berger has fashioned an intriguing comedy of assimilation, much of it shot in Boston. A young Talmud scholar from Poland is brought to this country by a self-centered prospective father-in-law who wants to marry him off to his very Americanized daughter.

The Boston Globe called the film “…an endearing film about the turn-of-the-century immigrant experience…it has a series of neat plot twists…a strong story-line… and outstanding performances.”

The film will be followed by discussion with the film’s director, Pamela Berger. Dr. Berger is a professor of medieval art at Boston College.

Cost includes popcorn.
