Judaism and Cosmology in the 21st Century: Why Science Matters for a Spiritual Life

How are science and religion harmonious and what is the relationship with science and religion?  Dr. Howard A. Smith, Senior Astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, will discuss these topics at Temple Sinai’s Scholar in Residence weekend in January.  At Erev Shabbat services, 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24,  Dr.  Smith will talk on “Judaism and Cosmology in the 21sdt Century:  Why Science Matters for a Spiritual Life.” On Sunday, January 26 at 9:30 a.m., Dr. Smith will lead a discussion about “Modern Cosmology and Kabbalah:  A New Conversation Between Science and Religion.”   The community is invited to join us as Dr. Smith tackles the complicated and fascinating issues relating to  science and religious traditions, including Kabbalah.  The weekend takes place at Temple Sinai, 50 Sewall Avenue in Coolidge Corner, Brookline.  All are welcome.
