The 71st Annual Laymen’s Institute will be held at Camp Ramah in Palmer, MA from June 08 – 11, 2017.

Laymen’s Institute is of a wonderful mix of relaxation, sports, eating, learning, prayer, spirited singing and camaraderie. Each year’s schedule is centered on our two Scholars in Residence. Other activities include “Minyan in the Grove,” a learner’s minyan, softball, tennis, swimming, boating, bike rides and ‘Hearing Men’s Voices’ programs that focus on current personal issues.

The weekend begins on Thursday afternoon and ends Sunday morning before noon. Men may arrive and leave to their own schedules, though we discourage traveling on Shabbat. Camp Ramah is in Palmer, MA, just 75 minutes from Boston. Carpools are available.

For more information on Laymen’s Institute, download our brochure, see details on this year’s program and even watch a short video highlighting the Laymen’s Institute experience, please visit www.nerfjmc.org.

First-time participants can enjoy a discounted rate covering all of the food, lodging, study and recreation. Financial aid is available and handled in a very confidential manner by our registrar.

Organized and proudly sponsored by the New England Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, the Retreat is the first and oldest weekend retreat for Jewish men in America. Synagogue or Men’s Club membership is not required and Jewish men of all traditions are welcome.
