Have you always wanted to learn how to chant Torah? Did you learn years ago as a bar or bat mitzvah student and then forget? Are you frustrated by having to memorize your Torah portion melody from a recording? Join Rabbi Polisson for this six-week course to learn how to chant Ta’amei Ha-Mikra, known in English as Torah trope.
We will focus on learning the basic trope patterns and will build up to more advanced ones. By the end of six weeks, you will be able to chant the Torah reading for Rosh Hodesh (the beginning of each new Hebrew month) and have the tools to prepare on your own to chant other Torah readings!
Note: This course is intended for people who already know how to read and pronounce Hebrew accurately.
Classes will be held 7:30-8:45 p.m. on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 7
