Check out our sale of handcrafted Guatemalan beaded and woven goods. The range of items make wonderful Hanukkah gifts. Among the items on sale are kippot, challah covers, shawls that can convert to tallitot, and much more. The funds from the sales go to support a secular school in Guatemala called Bendicion de Dios (Blessing from God School). The 500 students and their families live in dire poverty and cannot afford the cost of “public school” in Guatemala. This sale also supports the fair trade artisans. 10% of the proceeds go to Beth El.
This event is run by Beth El’s Jane and Martin Brauer, board members of Under the Same Moon, the American fundraising arm for this school, and supported by Carrie Fuchs, who serves on our Advisory Committee.
