Please note this event will now take place over Zoom. See below for further details.

Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill invites members and visitors to join us for the HIAS National Refugee Shabbat, during which Jews across the country will take action for refugees and asylum seekers.

During Shabbat, the American Jewish community will dedicate sacred time and space to refugees and asylum seekers. Building on the momentum of the inaugural National Refugee Shabbat, in which nearly 300 congregations across the United States and abroad participated, this National Refugee Shabbat will be an opportunity to once again raise awareness in our community, to recognize the work that has been done and to reaffirm our commitment to welcoming refugees and asylum seekers.

Temple Emanu-El will be joined at this special Shabbat service by Marius, a Togolese asylum seeker currently hosted by the Merrimack Valley Interfaith Sanctuary Network, who will speak about his experiences living as an asylum seeker.

Join us on Zoom here. Meeting ID: 418 878 740.
