December 20, 2015 Wellesley

BOSTON, MA – After a successful Season of touring Never Ever Ever, a monodrama by Sivan Ben Yishai, translated by Natalie Fainstein, in 2014-15, Israeli Stage is proud to bring back its hit show to Season 6 | All Female Playwrights. This play, winner of four Assistej Awards in 2013, will feature Phil Tayler* and will be directed by Guy Ben-Aharon. Following its premiere at the Goethe-Institut Boston, Never Ever Ever toured to over a dozen universities and high schools in the Greater Boston Area, promoting conversation about dyslexia and learning disabilities and Israel.

SYNOPSIS Yoni runs away from school, from home, from himself. He runs away the moment he’s confronted with the word dyslexic. In this moving one-man play, Ben-Yishai provides the audience an
experience of what it’s like to feel like an outsider, feeling different, being differently-abled, yet, at the same time whole.

SIVAN BEN YISHAI Originally from Tel Aviv, Sivan splits her time between Tel Aviv and Berlin. She studied writing and directing at the University of Tel Aviv while studying acting at Nissan Nativ acting studio. In her 10 years of artistic work, Sivan has directed, written and produced various projects that were and are performed in venues and festivals across Israel. She created “Simplestory”, “DUZ.PUA”, “Chatroulette”, ”The turn of the ambassador’s wife”, “Never Ever Ever” and ”Moskobya”.

The play is 7:00-8:00 pm followed by a talkback from 8:00-9:00 pm.
