“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”
—John Quincy Adams

Our world and communities have been forever transformed by the year 2020. Certainly, each of us experienced challenges. And with these challenges, there are opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration. How is this moment in time changing you and the way you engage with the world?

Please join CJP for an inspiring intergenerational program, “Everyday Leadership: Engagement with Gratitude,” where we’ll explore how you can transform everyday moments with family, friends, colleagues, and community into leadership opportunities.

Our learning will happen over two virtual sessions. We invite you to join us as an individual, a family, or with a group of friends. The sessions are open to anyone 13 and older. (We do encourage those not yet in high school to participate with a parent or other adult.)

  • Wednesday, March 3: Nanette Fridman, MPP, J.D., will lead us in learning the concepts of everyday leadership, gratitude, and creating change. A North Shore native, Nanette is president of Fridman Strategies, Inc., and has more than 25 years of experience with nonprofits as a professional, lay leader, consultant, and coach, and is a national speaker, trainer, facilitator, and author of two books, “On Board: What Current and Aspiring Board Members Must Know About Nonprofits & Board Service” and “Holding the Gavel: What Nonprofit Board Leaders Need to Know.” We will discuss our stars of gratitude activity and give you an everyday leadership opportunity.
  • Thursday, March 18: After sharing our stars of gratitude stories, we will apply everyday leadership concepts to community volunteer opportunities focusing on food insecurity. CJP will provide an overview on how we’re addressing increased community needs through our Anti-Poverty Initiative. My Brother’s Table executive director Dianne Kuzia Hills will discuss food insecurity and engagement opportunities, and leaders from Jewish Family & Children’s Service will share information about Family Table on the North Shore and how to make a difference locally.

Make sure to RSVP early, as space is limited. We will be mailing you a leadership kit as part of this virtual experience; RSVP by Feb. 17 to guarantee you will receive your kit before the first event date. The final deadline to register is Feb. 25.

This program is made possible by a generous grant from The Michael Steinberg Leadership Endowment Fund. Michael Steinberg, z”l, was a beloved and respected leader on the North Shore. He believed deeply in developing leadership skills in individuals of all ages and recognized the importance of cultivating and stewarding the next generation of leaders for the Jewish community.
