Pride Liberation Seder and Havdallah

June 7, 2014

The Liberation Seder was developed over 30 years ago as a way for our Jewish community to celebrate our GLBTQ friends and family coming out of “bondage” through Stonewall. Much like the Passover Seder retells the story of our liberation from Egypt, we retell the history of Stonewall and hear stories of coming out by individuals, family members, and allies. In telling these stories, we remember what it feels like for people unable to freely express their GLBTQ identities and live freely and comfortably as their true selves. We also recognize during this Seder that there are many still living in bondage; who are not out and who may still be or feel oppressed.

Keshet is co-sponsoring this event with Congregation Am Tikva, Temple Israel of Boston, and Temple Sinai.

Light refreshments will be served.

Event Location: Temple Israel of Boston
477 Longwood Ave., Boston, Massachusetts, 02215
