Rabbi Jonathan Slater to Teach on Spirituality

Join us for a Shabbat day of learning, community, meditation and more with Rabbi Jonathan Slater! We will have opportunities to study with Rabbi Slater and experience different guided meditation sessions.

The schedule for the day is as follows. Feel free to come to morning or evening services, or both!

9:30 am: Shabbat morning services
D’var Torah: “V’Shahkanti b’Tokham — God wants to dwell in us, for us to be God’s dwelling place in this world.”
12:00 pm: Kiddush lunch
1:00 pm: Post-Kiddush talk, “God is calling to us every day”

5:15 pm: Minhah Services
5:50 pm: Meditation
6:10 pm: Ma’ariv / Havdalah
6:30 pm: Melavah Malkah (evening meal) and talk, “There is no place devoid of God”

Rabbi Jonathan Slater co-directs the Clergy Leadership Program at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. He is the author of “A Partner in Holiness: Deepening Mindfulness, Practicing Compassion and Enriching Our Lives through the Wisdom of R. Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev’s Kedushat Levi” (Jewish Lights Publishing, 2014) and “Mindful Jewish Living: Compassionate Practice” (Aviv Press, 2004). He is also on the faculty of Makom: Center for Mindfulness at the JCC in Manhattan, teaching and leading mindfulness meditation.
