Family Service begins at 8:30 a.m. (Ticket not required)

Early Service begins at 9:30 a.m. (Ticket required. Click “GO” to register)

Late Service begins at 12 p.m. (Ticket required. Click “GO” to register)

Tashlich begins at 4 p.m. (Ticket not required)

All services are led by Rabbi Keith Stern. Our Family Service includes prayers, songs and a snack. It lasts approximately one hour; a parent must accompany child.

Tashlich takes place at Newton City Hall, where we read poems, say some prayers and share thoughts focusing on rededicating ourselves to making better choices in the new year. At the end of the service, we take crumbs from our pockets (or plastic bags) and cast them into the water, symbolizing the purging of our sinful habits and our striving to be the best people possible. It is a family time, and children have fun feeding the ducks, having shed “temple clothes” for more comfortable and casual attire.
