Shake It Up Shabbat/Bagels and Babies

October 10, 2015 Belmont

Come and join us for Shake It Up Shabbat! and Bagels and Babies. Bring your children and babies for a lively, fun, movement-oriented 20 minute service, with musical instruments, stories, and lots of shaking it up! This service is primarily geared toward preschool children and under. Older siblings are welcome! Everyone is welcome to this program, members and non-members, Jewish and non-Jewish partners and spouses alike.

These specially designed services, led by Rabbi Kraus, provide a joyful and musical Shabbat morning prayer experience for small children (no experience necessary!). After the short service, we will divide into two groups. There will be fun, Jewish-themed learning activities for our 3 to 5 year olds and their parent(s), led by Liane Weber, including interactive movement, manipulative play, crafts, art, and food projects, so dress for the mess! There will also be a discussion-oriented Bagels and Babies group for very young children ages 0-2 and their parent(s) led by Marci Shapiro, LISCW, focusing on incorporating Shabbat infusing Jewish values in a home with very small children.

There will be opportunities for young families to get to know one another and build community as we move through the year. We aim to provide a space where families with young children can become comfortable experiencing a meaningful Shabbat experience together and begin developing and enriching their own home practice.

Please join us for our next Shake It Up Shabbat! service THIS Saturday, October 10th from 9:00-10:30am where we will be learning about Shabbat and the blessings for our children (and grandchildren)! Beth El Temple Center is located at 2 Concord Ave in Belmont (entrance to the parking lot is on Blanchard Road).
