In a time of escalating global tensions and a renewed focus on the safety of our communal spaces, the Connie Spear Birnbaum Foundation, in partnership with CJP, invites you to join Michael Masters, national director and CEO of the Secure Community Network (SCN). Following his talk, Masters will be in conversation with Rabbi Marc Baker, president and CEO of Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
As the leader of the official safety organization for the Jewish community in North America, Masters will share a vital perspective on maintaining a secure, resilient, and thriving Jewish future in “Security Through Strength: Ensuring the Safety of the Jewish Community in a Post-October 7 World.”
Masters is a recognized expert on issues related to homeland and national security, terrorism, law enforcement, antisemitism, and targeted violence. He has testified, served as a witness, expert panelist, and appeared as a guest speaker before the U.S. Congress and interagency task forces, as well as at international security forums, conferences, and summits, both in the United States and abroad.
This lecture continues the legacy of Connie Spear Birnbaum, whose 30-year career in Jewish communal life was defined by her natural ability to foster relationships and facilitate dialogue across the splendor of our community’s diversity. It is in that spirit of K’lal Yisrael — the unity of the Jewish people — that we gather to learn and stand together.
