The American Jewish Committee (AJC) is launching “The Forgotten Exodus,” a new podcast series dedicated to the stories of the over 800,000 Jews who left or were driven from their homes in Arab nations and Iran during the mid-20th century. According to the AJC, the vast majority faced persecution and violence, had to flee their homes and left behind homelands where they had lived for centuries due to their identity as Jews.
Episode No. 1 will focus on the Jews of Iraq. The host will be Manya Brachear Pashman and the guest will be Carol Isaacs, a cartoonist and musician who has created a graphic-novel memoir and animated film, “The Wolf of Baghdad,” about her family’s flight from Iraq.
