Join ADL New England for a day dedicated to combating antisemitism and hate.

This one-day forum will include presentations by leading experts and skill-building workshops for working professionals. Join us to explore how you can confront antisemitism: on campus, in schools, in workplaces, in everyday conversations, and in our communities. Participants will leave with an actionable toolkit for confronting antisemitism and anti-Zionism, and other forms of hate.

Melissa Garlick, CJP’s Senior Director of Combatting Antisemitism and Building Civic Engagement, will moderate the keynote conversation between Rabbi David Wolpe, inaugural ADL Rabbinic Fellow and Harvard Divinity School visiting scholar, and Ron Liebowitz, president of Brandeis University, addressing how discourse on campus is impacting community conversations around Israel and antisemitism. They will engage in one of the most critical conversations of our time.

College and community have always impacted one another. Today, as incidents of antisemitism in society and on campus continue to rise, special obligations exist for leaders in both settings to defend free speech, and to speak out against hate. From classrooms and quads across the country we hear the echo of ancient antisemitic tropes. When the academy is on fire with such overheated and dangerous rhetoric, it inevitably spills over into the culture. How should the challenges on campus be addressed? What are the obligations of university leaders to the larger society? What can community leaders do to defend healthy free speech? What can help heal our increasingly divided and angry culture? And how can the healing begin on campus?

This keynote session will be streamed as part of the virtual option, though we hope to see you in-person if you are able.
