The High Cost of Cheap Food – Pesticide Residues

Ed Stockman, the cofounder and education director of Regeneration Massachusetts, will be discussing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in relationship to the pesticides used to grow them and how those pesticides are in our food. Mr. Stockman’s presentation will focus on:

  • American agricultural use of pesticides
  • How pesticides end up in our food supplies
  • Recent food testing results
  • What consumers can do to avoid ingesting pesticides

Mr. Stockman is a biologist (M.S.), former Peace Corps volunteer and a fourth-generation farmer residing in Plainfield. For several years he conducted grant-funded agricultural research at his farm. He has been a GMO educator for over 15 years and has given presentations throughout New England.
