Temple Beth David of the South Shore is pleased to present Mr. Christopher Fallon, the Asst. Deputy Commissioner of Communications at the Massachusetts Dept. of Correction, who will be the speaker during Shabbat services, about the many programs that the DOC runs to help inmates transition back to their communities.

Mr. Fallon started out as a Correction Officer and slowly worked up to his present position because of his interest in reducing recidivism and giving inmates programs they need to acquire education and trade skills so they can legitimately support their families and become productive members of their communities.

Sandra Temple, who teaches in our state prison system, has known Chris Fallon for several years: “There are many good things that happen behind the walls of our state prisons. Of course there are problems, but the public never hears about the positives. Many of us who work ‘behind the walls’ are just as committed to tikkun olam as the advocates outside the prisons. It would make for a unique perspective for Tikkun Olam Shabbat.”
