On the occasion of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s 25th year, Dr. Edna Friedberg will discuss the institution’s depth, reach and growing relevance in today’s world.

Dr. Friedberg, a historian, will connect Holocaust history with social, cultural and political issues today, such as the new law in Poland criminalizing perceived attacks on Polish history and the rise of white-nationalist and far-right movements. She will discuss the global and domestic rise of extremism and hatred, as well as government responses. Examining these trends through the lens of history, Dr. Friedberg will assess the dangers of the current environment and how to best address them.

Local museum supporters and event chairs Andrew Jaffe, Josh Kraft, Alex Leventhal and Michael Ross invite the community at large to attend this important event sponsored by Deborah and Ron Feinstein, Jeffrey Karp, Alan Lazowski, Richard Slifka, Sid Topol and Ed Zuker.

Advance registration is required for this event. For more information, please contact Jill Barkan. The event will be held at the Boston Public Library, Guastavino Room (Dartmouth Street entrance).
