Inspired by Franz Rosenzweig’s Freies Jüdisches Lehrhaus or Free Jewish House of Learning of the 1920s, Rabbi Charlie Schwartz and Joshua Foer founded Lehrhaus as a new kind of Jewish space that integrates Jewish learning, community and food in unique and engaging ways.
Our Lehrhaus aims to revive and modernize Rosenzweig’s institution for today’s world, creating a vibrant, and delicious, hub for Jewish life that is open to all.
