New England Yachad is the local chapter of Yachad/National Jewish Council for Disabilities. We are dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their participation in the full spectrum of Jewish life.
Yachad members participate in activities each month. There are Yachad chapters located throughout the United States and Canada. Yachad’s emphasis is on including individuals with disabilities in activities in the Jewish community. We celebrate Jewish holidays with local synagogues and at our own community events. Every month we have recreational activities, such as bowling, mini golf, attending basketball games, trips and things that address the interests of our members.
Yachad serves individuals with disabilities ages 10 and over, with some activities geared toward specific age groups. We also have Shabbatons with local colleges. High school volunteers participate with Yachad members at the majority of our activities.
Yachad is a division of the Orthodox Union. Yachad members are welcome from all denominations regardless of affiliation.
